What can we treat under Pharmacy First?

Our clinical team can now provide advice and prescription-only treatment for the following seven conditions:

  • Sinusitis: For adults and children aged 12 years and over.
  • Sore Throat: For anyone aged 5 years and over.
  • Earache (Otitis Media): For children aged 1 to 17 years.
  • Infected Insect Bites: For anyone aged 2 years and over.
  • Impetigo: For anyone aged 1 year and over.
  • Shingles: For adults aged 18 years and over.
  • Uncomplicated UTIs: For women aged 16 to 64 years.

How it works at Cornwell's Chemists

The process is designed to be as seamless as possible. You do not need to book an appointment. 1. Walk-in: Simply visit any of our Staffordshire branches. 2. Consultation: Ask to speak to the pharmacist about the Pharmacy First service. We provide private consultation rooms at every location to ensure your conversation remains confidential. 3. Treatment: If our pharmacist determines that your condition requires a specific medication, they can dispense it on the spot. 4. Referral: If your symptoms suggest something more serious, we will refer you to the appropriate NHS service, ensuring you have a clear path to recovery.
